Class, Assets and Work in Rentier Capitalism

چکیده

Abstract ‘Rentier capitalism’ is the term increasingly used to describe economies dominated by rentiers, rents, and rent-generating assets. A growing body of scholarship considers how ownership such assets individuals households reshaping patterns class inequality accordingly requires reconceptualisation latter phenomena. The significance company-owned corporate rents for class, their conceptualisation has not been considered, however. This article offers an exploratory investigation along these lines, highlighting importance employees’ working relationship company-owned, position. further reflects on developments in this regard might be approached from perspective Marx’s writing value, labour challenges that those potentially pose Marxian concepts.
